G'day Worthing, can you help me find my family?

AN Australian man is appealing to Worthing Herald readers to help him search for members of his distant family.

James Margetts, of Victoria, is hoping someone will recognise the people in this family photograph taken at a wedding in Oxford in 1909.

The girls who appear at the front of the photograph as flower girls are Maud and Ivy, daughters of Matilda and Ernest Brooks. They have another sister known as Peggy, who was last known to be living in Worthing.

Mr Margetts' great-great grandparents emigrated to Australia in 1890 and so he knows very little about the English side of his family.

He said: "Very possibly some of your readers may know of Peggy or know her family.

"After all these years it would be nice to share this photo with the family members who have closer ties to it and also to find out what happened to some of the people in the photograph. I am hoping someone will be able to help me."

- Anyone who thinks that they can help should email Mr Margetts at: [email protected]
