Fundraisers thrilled by Littlehampton’s support

FUNDRAISERS are this week praising the community of Littlehampton for its generosity in supporting a charity fun day in the town.

Money has still been pouring in following last week’s fundraising event at The Dolphin pub, in High Street – which has so far generated more than £900 for Angmering-based community group Cancer United.

Sandy Matheson, who helped to organise the day alongside Dolphin landlord Ellie Boiling, said: “We are really pleased with how it all went.

“The weather was great and the atmosphere was brilliant. But it was knackering.”

There was a host of activities for visitors to enjoy on the day, with a range of special guests – including Littlehampton mayor Jill Long and the town’s carnival mascot, Hampton – also making an appearance.

Sandy said the group was so thrilled at the result that they would be rounding off the amount donated to Cancer United to £1,000.

Sandy added: “This wasn’t just about raising money for charity but about bringing the community of Littlehampton together.”

Ellie wished to thank all the businesses who supported their effort by donating raffle prizes.
