The ‘Big Draw’ event will see visitors take inspiration from the museum’s collection, before creating their own artwork from a wide variety of materials.

At the end of the day, the works will be combined to create a community artwork, which will be displayed in the museum foyer.

Jacquie Buttriss, Vice chair of the museum, said: “Last year everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

“It attracted people to the museum who don’t normally come, so it was lovely to see new people coming in, taking part in something together and having fun.”

Last year’s event saw children as young as three years old alongside grandparents in their nineties getting involved, she added.

This year’s theme is Steyning glass, which visitors are free to interpret anyway they like.

“In our collection we have glass bottles and panels,” said Jacquie, “A lot of old buildings in Steyning with interesting glass panels.”

The event will take place on Saturday, October 15 from 11am to 4.30pm.
