Four killed on county's roads

A popular amateur boxer and two young girls were among the lives claimed after two fatal collisions on the county's roads on Saturday.

One of the incidents happened near an accident blackspot on the A264 at Bewbush, where 20 collisions and one fatality have occurred in the last five years.

In the first crash which happened at 2.30pm motorcyclist Danny Hall (26) was riding his Suzuki GSXR motorbike along the A284 at Arundel when he crashed into a Honda Civic as he took a bend.

His business partner and fellow motorcyclist Glenn Pearce had been riding a short distance behind him and witnessed the crash.

Mr Hall, of Central Avenue in Bognor Regis, ran a successful scaffolding business in the town and was a promising super heavyweight boxer who regularly trained at St Gerrard's Boxing Club in Chichester. His trainer Gerry Lavelle called him an 'inspiration'.

Former trainer of Chris Eubank, Ronnie Davies had been encouraging Danny to turn professional.

In a separate incident two sisters aged 12 and 15 died after a black Ford Focus collided with their stepfather's Land Rover Freelander on the A264 at Bewbush, Crawley.
