Former mayor hospitalised by twin heart attacks

Popular former Town Mayor Stuart Earl is recovering in the Conquest Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home and a second in an ambulance.

In a chirpy message to friends this week Stuart said: "I shall be fighting fit before long.

"I have been lounging about, getting as much attention as I can and chatting-up the nurses!"

The busy businessman numbers among his contributions to the community the chairmanship of the League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital. He is also chairman of Little Common Business Association.

As he awaits medical tests to determine what course of action is appropriate for him, it looks as if he will miss Saturday evening's Country Fair in the grounds of The Wheatsheaf.

The event is the business association's major fund-raising event of the year.
