Fire-hit Bexhill cafe '˜manically busy' on opening day

Caffe Martini welcomed back customers old and new with many coming to see the refurbishments after the blaze in the early hours of March 12.
The Terminus Road cafe owner Danielle Martinaj said she was overwhelmed by the amount of support both yesterday and at an opening party on Saturday night.

Hide Ad“The opening night was really good, we had a lot of regular customers turn up to support us and that was really nice,” she said.
“People were amazed by the changes and how much bigger it looks.
“I stayed out of the way on Sunday purposely to let the staff and [her husband] Nino deal with it but apparently it was manically busy.
“They didn’t stop from 8am to 6pm as the tables were filled all day, which was really good.”

Hide AdCaffe Martini’s interior was completely destroyed and everything has been ripped out and refurbished after the fire.
The kitchen was totally destroyed by the electrical fire at around 12.30am, which they were alerted to by a neighbour.
