Figures are demanded in row over council pensions

A WEST Chiltington man is campaigning against the high level of council pensions, which he says contribute to inflated council tax bills.

Derrick Frost, a former Adur councillor and Storrington parish councillor said: "I am still researching for the true facts. My initial opinion is that we in the private sector appeal to be losing out badly to those employed in the public sector.

He is supported in his view by Andrew Allum, chairman of the n ational TaxPayers' Alliance who said: "With poension costs jumping 13 per cent in one year, the problem is clearly getting worse and requires urgent attention."
