Ferring missing woman- front garden dug up by police

POLICE were digging up the front garden at the home of Ferring missing woman Elaine Taggart today (Thursday).

Her 43-year-old husband, Andy, was arrested last week on suspicion of the murder of Elaine Taggart.

He was been taken to Chichester Custody Centre for questioning and police were granted a 12 hour extension on Thursday morning to enable them to question him for a further period. He was released on police bail on Thursday evening pending further inquiries until May 27.

Mrs Taggart, (48) from Ferring, has been missing for more than three months and was last seen in early January.

She shared her home with her husband Andy (43) and children Daniel (14), Sophie (11).

The family home in Ferringham Lane was cordoned off with police officers present on Wednesday.

Mr Taggart's car was removed from the driveway on Wednesday morning.

Police continue to appeal for information about Mrs Taggart.
