Farewell To Laughing Len

BLACK horses with black plumage drawing a black carriage led the funeral procession of veteran entertainer Len Mullinex through the streets of Littlehampton, last Tuesday.

The procession started in Terminus Road and took in a circuit of Littlehampton before finishing at Len s home in Helyer s Green, Wick.

Len lived a busy and colourful life and he will perhaps be best remembered for his stint with the Black and White Minstrel Show in the 1960s.

Len s health began to deteriorate a few years ago and he was given a triple heart bypass.

At the beginning of January, he had a nasty fall and was rushed to Worthing Hospital with internal bleeding, he was said to be laughing and joking right until the end.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humour who would always do what he could to help someone else.
