Expert pieces together work of art

William Newton, a well-known water colourist, entertained the Bognor Regis Art Society members with a delightful scene of Wendens Ambo village church in Essex.

He started his set piece by sketching and then used an edding pen and brush to highlight certain areas, finally applying a light water colour wash detailing dappled light which brought the picture to life.
