Drugs seized after 30 police officers raid five addresses
Cannabis plants worth more than £35,000 were seized after 30 police officers carried out drugs raids this morning.
Thirty cannabis plants, along with £10,000 in cash, high-value watches and cultivation equipment, were seized after they were found in three properties in Littlehampton.
Officers raided three addresses in the town, in Gloucester Road, Harwood Road and Arundel Road, as well as an address in Stopham Road, Pulborough.
A 40-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and cultivation of cannabis, and a 34-year-old man from Pulborough was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, money laundering and cannabis cultivation.
Inspector Marc Clothier, from Sussex Police, said: “The misuse and production of drugs is a priority for us as we recognise the impact this has on individuals and the local communities.
“We have recently seen an increase in drug use in Littlehampton and I would hope the success today will provide reassurance to local residents and visitors to the town that the information they provide is valued and allows us to take positive action when we can.
“Our new model for policing, which is based on threat, harm and risk, provides the flexibility to deploy officers from a variety of locations in response to a significant issue and today this has involved teams from Worthing, Bognor, Chichester and Littlehampton, along with specialist officers including financial investigators, Local Support teams and the use of police dogs.”
