Detectives hunt rapist after Durrington attack.

The woman had been on her way home after a night out when she was grabbed between East Tyne and Durrington Lane at midnight on Sunday.

Detective Inspector Ray Scales appealed for any witnesses who may have seen what happened to contact police.

He said: "This is a very serious assault on this woman who was walking home alone."

The women's attacker is described as white, of a medium build, wearing a long sleeved dark T shirt and possible dark tracksuit bottoms.
