Day-long police operation at Pebsham for missing Joyce

POLICE officers have been stopping vehicles and passers-by in Pebsham Lane all day.

The police operation is the latest phase in the week-long search for missing pensioner Joyce Wells.

Joyce, 75, vanished from her Pebsham Lane home last Saturday.

Specialist police search teams aided by sniffer dogs and volunteers have spent the week searching the estate and neighbouring woods and farmland for Joyce.

Inspector James Scott of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team said the aim of today's action was to ask the public if they had seen Joyce leaving her home last Saturday.

Joyce's daughters have told of their anguish in not knowing what has become of their mother and have joined the police in appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
