Pulborough church damaged during Easter burglary

A stained glass window was broken and a door damaged when a church in Pulborough was broken into on Good Friday.

Police say that a ‘small amount’ of cash was stolen from a collection plate during the break-in at St Mary’s Church.

Officers are now appealing for help in tracing a man they want to question about the incident.

They say that the burglary happended between 10.15 am and 10.30am on Friday (April 10).

A spokesman said: “Officers believe the man pictured could help them with their enquiries.

“He is described as white, 25-35 years old, 5ft 6ins – 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build with short brown hair and was wearing dark clothing.

“Anyone who knows this man, or who may have any other information about the burglary, is asked to contact police online or call 101 quoting serial 932 of 10/04.”
