Yesterday morning (Thursday, January 14) nurse Susan Chapman was taking her dogs for a walk by the old quarry in Hunter's Race when she came across a black bin liner, apparently filled with bones and flesh.

"It's a popular spot for a lot of dog walkers, so at 8.50am we parked up as we usually do and then I spotted a big black lump and I thought 'what the hell is that?'

"I could see that it was a big bag of bones - animal looking bones and clumps of meat - so I grabbed my dogs to get them away and put them back in the car to call the police.

"It's a bizarre place to drop a bag of bones and meat really. The worrying thing is: I know some people poison meat to hurt dogs."

Susan thanked police for their speed in arriving at the scene.

Police found the bin bag was full of animal bones and 'nothing suspicious'.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police attended and established that they were animal bones, nothing suspicious."
