Elderly woman's purse stolen from Brighton home while she was sleeping

A purse was stolen from an elderly woman's home in Brighton while she was asleep, police said.

Officers have now released CCTV of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Police said the purse – which contained £200 and bank cards – was taken from a flat in Hereford Street at around 7.20pm on Monday, October 8.

The victim, a woman in her 80s, was asleep inside the property at the time of the theft, police said.

Anyone who recognises the woman or noticed any suspicious behaviour in this area at this time, is asked to report it to police online or call 101 quoting reference 1315 of 08/10.
