Crack-down on law-breaking cyclists in Bognor

Police are cracking down on people cycling on pavements and through the pedestrian precinct in Bognor Regis.

Residents raised the issue and Bognor Regis PCSO Katie Harsley worked with Littlehampton PC Dan Bridger to get funding for warning signs in key locations.

The signs say it is an offence to cycle on pavements, punishable by a 30 fixed penalty notice.

As this is a priority in town and marine wards, PC Mark Linberry, PCSO Kayleigh Foster and PCSO Gemma Turner are continuing to target these areas and dishing out fixed penalty notices.

They are encouraging cyclists to respect other people and avoid a fine by dismounting on pavements and in the precinct.
