The garden is located in the middle twitten which leads to the coast road, in Lancing.
The idea for the work was suggested in June last year at the West Beach annual garden party.

“Later the conversation turned to the awful state of the middle twitten and that it’s either waterlogged, or full of brambles, not to mention the mess left by a few unscrupulous dog owners.”
West Beach Lancing applied to West Sussex County Council for a grant of £11,000 in order to begin the work on the garden.
Lynda added: “January 2016 arrived with good news. We had been awarded the full grant from WSCC. We knew we had a huge task ahead.

The community garden was offically launched on Sunday, October 30, 2016.
The launch party was attended by Janet Mockridge who represents the Southwick division of the West Sussex County Council.
She added: “The Garden was delivered by a lot of hard work by the local residents and a grant from WSCC Big Society Fund.

“This project has produced amazing results and stands as an example of what can be produced when everyone works together. Well done West Beach Residents.”
