Christian Youth Enterprises Sailing Centre in Chichester Harbour gets grant

The Christian Youth Enterprises Sailing Centre, which has been operating in Chichester Harbour for 24 years, will be pushing the boat out with the help of a Â£2,000 grant.

The money has come from West Sussex County Council's south Chichester county local committee, through a community initiative funding scheme.

The centre serves 2,500 young people every year, and the money will go towards buying a fishing boat and a sailing longboat, which will almost

double the number.

Lavant Parish Council has been given 500 to improve a children's

play area in the village. Committee chairman Cllr Mike Hall said the scheme aimed to help as many local organisations and clubs as possible.
