Chance to explore subterranean Winchelsea
Beneath the streets of ancient Winchelsea lay more than 50 medieval cellars and the public will have a chance to explore them in a number of ‘open days’ being held this year from April to October.
The first open day takes place on Monday April 6.
Most of the cellars are vaulted and were built around 1290 - 1300.
The tours are conducted by Winchelsea Archaeological Society and cost £5, which includes a guide book.
