Cash meant for orphaned children is stolen in Littlehampton

A CALLOUS thief stole a charity box raising money for orphaned children in war-torn Ukraine.

The crime took place at Silas, in Beach Road, Littlehampton, on January 18, at 7.30pm.

A woman entered the shop and stole the box from the counter. She then ran off in a 
southerly direction along Beach Road.

The charity box contained an unknown amount of cash.

A female shop assistant, who saw what happened, tried to pursue the thief, but was blocked by a man who had also entered the store and appeared to be working with the thief.

The female thief was described as white, skinny, about 5ft tall, wearing a black coat with a fur-trimmed hood, pink and white striped trousers and light brown UGG boots.

Her accomplice was said to be white, of medium build, 5ft 8ins, with short, black hair.

Witnesses can call police on 101, quoting serial 1125 of 18/1.
