Car wrecked in dawn arson attack in Littlehampton

ARSONISTS torched a parked car on Littlehampton’s seafront this morning (Thursday, January 16).

Firefighters were called to the East Green car park, behind the East Beach Café, shortly after 6.30am.

The white vehicle was ‘well ablaze’ by the time officers arrived, with a spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue adding that the blaze had caused ‘severe damage’ to the car.

Crews used two high-pressure hose reels to extinguish the blaze, which the service said was started deliberately.

Firefighters left the scene at 7.04am.
