Car fire causes road closure
A CAR fire resulted in the closure of Winchelsea Road near Guestling yesterday morning (Friday).
Fire crews were called to the scene at 8.42am and acted quickly to contain the fire in the Alfa Romeo, which was an LPG, or gas-powered car.
A hazardous materials officer also attended due to the added risk with fires in this type of vehicle.
Noone was injured but the road remained closed for around 45 minutes, and members of the public were moved to safety.
