Bus rally rolls into Adur

ABOUT 2,000 people flocked to Adur Recreation Ground to see up to 100 vintage buses at a rally.

One of the highlights of the event was a 1939 Leyland TD5 bus, which hadn't been seen on the country's roads for five years.

Sunday's event attracted people from far and wide, who were able to take a free ride from the recreation ground, in Brighton Road, Shoreham, to either Worthing or Brighton.

Chris Pearce, one of the rally's organisers, said: "There were buses every 20 minutes to Worthing, and every 20 minutes to Brighton.

"We were carrying 360 people an hour, all for free. We actually had to put on relief buses because of the demand.

"The day was a excellent. It was a huge success."
