The next monthly quiz evening at the Pavilion in Burwash Common is being held tonight. Teams of six people are invited to enter, just go a long to join in the fun, which begins at 8pm. The licenced bar will be open.

Warbleton Brass Band will be entertaining tomorrow afternoon at 3pm, in the Burwash Village Hall, to help raise funds for Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion. Entry is £5 at the door. Tea & cakes will be available during the interval and a raffle will be held.

Also tomorrow the burwash Bonfire Society invite you to the annual Bonfire and firework display. It is being held on the Swan Meadow playing fields from 7pm. Music, food & drink and a Halloween fancy dress competition will be part of the fun. Entry is free but with donations, so please be generous and help pay for your entertainment. If at all possible, please walk to the venue as parking will be limited with NO parking on the playing fields, and remember to leave pets secure indoors with a light on and maybe the TV!

ON Monday the Burwash branch of Age Uk will be holding their monthly lunch club at the Bear Motel from 12 noon. If you are 55 or over you are welcome to go along. On Saturday 9th November the Burwash Short Mat Bowls club invite you to join them for a fun general knowledge quiz evening. Those intrepid quiz masters Terry Parker & Steve Bennett have kindly agreed to ask the questions. Teams of six are invited to enter at £6 per person to include supper. On Thursday 14th November a charity soup lunch will be held in the Burwash village hall in aid of Admiral Nurses, dementia care in the community. Tickets are £7.50 for which you will be invited to sample as many of the delicious homemade soups as you wish, followed by a choice of desserts. Soft drink will be served but if you wish to bring wine that would be acceptable. Raffle prizes would also be gratefully received. To get a ticket please call Mary on 882107.

A basic First aid course for the public is being held on Saturday 30th November. I know this is over a month away but if you would like to take part you need to book a place now.
