Burwash
Congratulations: Last Friday, my great friend Sam Birch married her fiance Keith Morrison Williams at the registry Office before having a really special and unusual blessing and reception at The Bear Motel among friends and family. She wore a beautiful calf length turquoise dress wth a white top hat & veil. Their honeymoon is in Cyprus. We wish Sam & Keith a long and happy life together.
Sunflowers: For the last few months adults and children have been growing sunflowers and pumpkins. This is the second year of the competition, thought up by Rod Clifton. Last Saturday Rod and his fellow judges, Barry Taylor, Barry Lewis, Tania Cheshire, Ian Rees and Jean Holmwood went round the village with their tape measure to discover who had the tallest sunflower. The winner of the adults was Steph Stephens at 10 foot. Tania Cheshire was second. Jamie Stephens was the winner of the children’s flower. The measuring for the pumpkin will take place later in the year. If you think you would like to have ago at this fun competition call Rod Clifton or find the Sunflowers & Pumpkin site on facebook and let him know so he can add you to the list for next year.
