Burst water main closes road

A burst water main is causing major disruption on the roads this morning (July 9).

The problem has occurred on the A2220 Horsham Road, in Crawley, which has been closed in both directions between the Albany Road junction and the Springfield Road level crossing.

A traffic light failure is also causing disruption on the B2036 Balcome Road in Pound Hill, Crawley, and delays are being reported in both directions between the Turners Hill Road junction and the A2220 Worth Park Avenue junction.

Minor congestion has also been reported on the M23 southbound with queuing traffic causing delays at junction 9 near Gatwick Airport.

The weather today is set to be dry with a few sunny spells according to the Met Office.
