Bognor Prince's Trust Team give fresh look to family centre

Volunteers from the Bognor Prince's Trust Team programme have been working hard to give a family centre a spruce-up for autumn.

The ten-strong team, aged 17 to 25, received a call from The Tree House Family Centre in Richmond Road, asking if they could help by tidying up their front garden, following on from the successful work in the rear garden by a previous Prince's Trust Team a year ago.

They chose the centre, which runs a parenting programme, girls' self-esteem sessions and parent drop-in, as its community project which is part of a 12-week personal development programme.

Wyevale Garden Centre supported the project by donating plants, Hippowaste helped with clearing the large amount of garden waste that was accumulated, and Stagecoach bus company also provided the team with free transport to get to the project.

Despite being delayed by rain, the team cleared and tidied the area and planted trees, shrubs, bulbs and plants, completing the project on time.

Project co-ordinator Roy Newnham said: "It's a fantastic job which will

look lovely in the spring when all the plants have established themselves and come into flower.

"The team members deserve huge congratulations for all their hard work on the project."
