Bodiam village voice

Bodiam Church of England Primary School has had a number of Reception 2013 intake open mornings.

So if you have a child starting next September then go along to the open morning on October 15 from 9.30-11am and meet the children and staff. No need to phone, just pop in and receive a warm welcome. Also on October 4 the school has its harvest service.

Do not forget the coffee afternoon for Macmillan Cancer Support on September 30, 1-4pm at the garages in Levetts Lane, Bodiam, with tombola, raffle, lucky dip and lots more. If you can help on the day, or would like to donate prizes please call 01580 830211/830632/830462/830981 or just come and join us and help raise vital funds.

The harvest service for St Giles will be on October 7 at 11.15am. Gordon the vicar will take the service. This will be Gwen’s last service as organist at St Giles. Also children from Bodiam Church of England School will sing.

Bodiam Cricket Club are away to Beckley on September 30, start 12.30pm. By my list, one more fixture to go - away to Crowhurst on October 7, start noon. That will not give players a lot of time for breakfast.

It is good to see Bodiam boy Laurence Sims and his young family home from Canada to see his mum, plus good for the pre-school and our primary school and his mum and sister.

Someone has taken the seat from outside the Parish Room. Could they please take it back when a meeting or the pre-school takes place or to Battle Police Station, open hours on the wall outside of the police station.
