Blunt speaking at design day

Architects taking part in a competition to re-design Uckfield had focussed on some of the town's problem areas by lunchtime, today.

'Bell Lane is a disaster area, it ruins the perception of the town,' said David Cowan, of East Grinstead. Tony Foulger from Brighton who had never visited before said the only focal point was the Tesco clock

Rocks Park Primary School Year 5 children contributed their thoughts in letter to the architects.

The things they would like to see included clean public toilets and facilities for teenagers.

Ten-year-old Harriet James-Standen said she would also like a Build-a-Bear workshop because the nearest was too far away in Brighton.
