Members of the Rotary Club of Senlac, which meets in Cooden and draws members from and serves Hastings, Bexhill and Rother, spent a morning speaking to people on the street about the need for regular checks and consequences of abnormal blood pressure. Of the fifty people who agreed to be checked by the St John’s Ambulance Brigade six were advised to attend their doctor for further checks.

The Rotary Club of Senlac is grateful to Barraclough and Stiles who kindly provided accommodation for the checks to be done.

It is estimated that around 16 million people in the UK have high blood pressure and those with the condition are three times more likely to develop heart disease and stroke.
