Barnham St Wilfrid's Hospice Shop celebrates 10th birthday

A SPECIAL guest helped a Barnham charity shop mark its 10th birthday in style.

The St Wilfrid’s Hospice Shop, in The Square, has helped raise thousands of pounds for the Chichester-based charity and was praised by Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert, when he went to pass on birthday wishes to the store.

To celebrate the shops’s anniversary, manager Margaret Dowling, St Wilfrid’s chief executive Alison Moorey and the hospice’s trustees invited friends, volunteers and the public to visit the shop and enjoy a slice of cake.

Margaret said: “We are very lucky to have a lot of support and it is exciting to be celbrating such an important milestone.”

The store, which has 17 volunteers and two members of staff, first opened its doors in May 2002, and is one of the hospice’s seven traditional charity shops selling quality pre-owned clothing and accessories, DVDs, CDs, books and bric-a-brac.
