Armed men hold up Littlehampton fish and chip shop

TWO ARMED men held up a Littlehampton fish and chip shop last night (Tuesday, September 1).

They went into the Pier Road shop just after 9pm, and forced staff to hand over a cash box from the safe containing about 1,000, before leaving through the back of the building.

Both are described as being about 6ft tall, dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas. One was wearing a long black coat, and carrying a handgun.

A spokesman for Sussex police said: "Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area, maybe in a car, in the time leading up to the raid to contact Arun CID on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 2010 of 01/09."
