Allotment fire and bonfire in St Leonards

Firefighters tackled a bonfire and a separate fire at an allotment in St Leonards yesterday (Sunday, July 24).

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Bohemia Road and The Ridge stations were sent to Vale Road at around 10.10pm after reports of a fire at an allotment.

Crews put out a fire affecting three greenhouses, bushes and trees on the allotment.

Earlier that evening, firefighters from Bohemia Road were called to Paynton Road at about 9.45pm.

They used a hose reel to put out a bonfire.
