More than just a holiday: This Sussex and Hampshire travel agent will help you create your next dream trip

With the cost of long-haul flights now looking highly competitive, there has never been a better time to consider that dream trip to far-flung places – or you can also have a great time closer to home.

A recent travel show, arranged by local independent Sussex and Hampshire travel agency Fusion Holidays, has shown our appetite for travel is as keen as ever.

Almost 400 people came to the stunning Stansted House near Rowlands Castle in Hampshire to attend the January show where there were stands from around 20 holiday suppliers and attendees were able to talk to holiday experts, pick up brochures and information, enjoy talks and presentations by the main exhibitors and find out more about how Fusion Holidays can help you turn your holiday dreams into reality.

But if you missed the show never fear, you can get the same first-class advice and inspiration by visiting a Fusion Holidays branch in person.

Who are Fusion Holidays?

Fusion Holidays is an independent travel specialist – that means they are not tied to any particular holiday supplier – who focus on creating and booking bespoke trips, cruises and adventures, for a wide variety of clients.

This will be their 11th year of operation and owner Harry Lightfoot says that long-haul experiences have never been better value for holidaymakers.

“The cost of flights to Europe is quite high – we see some families paying £6k-£7k for family holidays to places like Turkey in the summer,” said Harry. “This is making the cost of cruises and long-haul trips much more competitive and attractive.”

Because Fusion Holidays can work with any travel companies – they have over 350 suppliers that they regularly work with – they can make your holiday uniquely tailored for you, and ensure it is the trip you want, which gives you far more freedom than an off-the-peg trip.

It may be a cruise in South America – with a land trip to Machu Picchu, exploring the unique culture of China, or going on a wildlife adventure on a safari.

All our holidays are bespoke and we can work with all budgets. We encourage people to come and sit down with us and tell us what they are thinking, and what kind of trip they fancy and we can advise them of the best way of doing it.

Vacation inspiration

Harry and the team can help those who know exactly what they want, they can advise but also inspire. If you’ve always fancied a holiday of a lifetime somewhere that bit special, or you want something more adventurous than a few weeks baking on a beach, then come and talk to one of their consultants.

We asked Harry for some inspiration and to tell us what places are hot right now on people’s bucket list.

He said cruises were hugely popular – one company in particular called Celebrity Cruises attracted a lot of bookings at the show. Canada is a hotspot at the moment as are wildlife safaris, and Japan is rapidly becoming a must-see country too.

“People want something different and with the costs of European flights so high just now people can afford to think about going further afield – long haul might not be as expensive as they think.”

They can also deal with smaller holidays, closer to home or just for those few days when a break is called for.

They work with some top brands in the travel business. For example exhibitors at the January event included:  Prestige Travel; Classic Collection; Gold Medal; Cox & Kings/Abercrombie & Kent; Sandals; Kirker; MSC Cruises; Silversea; Ambassador; AE Expeditions; Oceana Cruises; Celebrity; Virgin voyages; AMA Waterways; Riverside Luxury Cruises; Croisieurope; Travelsphere/Just You; Jamaica Tourist Board; Typically, Holidays; Constantinou Bros and Coop Holidays.
