Adele, who lives in Pevensey Bay, writes, “I found this wonderful photograph in a local charity shop and wondered if any reader recognised any of the riders and their passengers.

“It was taken in Eastbourne Railway Station with the cinema adverts – The Classic – and old telephone box on the left hand side facing the entrance to the platforms as it was then.

“Note The Classic Cinema advertised as Eastbourne’s repertory cinema.

“I would love to know if anyone recognises themselves or other people and when exactly it might have been taken.”
