These are anxiety-inducing times. Guild Care is still able to offer respite, convalescent and longer-term care to those that need it during these anxiety-inducing times.

Given the level of uncertainty that the future currently holds, some may think it is difficult to plan and implement major life changes.

For example, it could be stressful for those making the decision to move a loved one into a care home, unpaid carers looking for a short break to recharge their batteries, or those that need convalescent care for themselves.

Thankfully, help can be found in the form of Worthing-based pioneering care charity, Guild Care, which is accepting new residents into its care homes.

In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Guild Care has introduced a range of safety measures.

Debbie Dollner, chief operating officer, said: “During these challenging times, the health and well-being of our residents, family members and staff is of the utmost importance to us.

“We continue to follow Government and Public Health England guidelines and adhere to strict infection control procedures and all our staff are using PPE to ensure we keep our residents safe.

“Despite not being able to accept visitors in anything other than exceptional circumstances, we understand how important it is for our residents and family members to feel emotionally supported at a time when many are missing their family and friends.

“We hope the extended wellbeing and activity programme we have implemented enables them to feel part of our family and creates lots of special moments.

“We know it’s really difficult for families not being able to visit as normal but every home is doing all it can to keep residents, family members and loved ones in touch. We hope to have our doors open again very soon.”

From short-term respite to a home for life, Guild Care offers lengths of stay to suit any need. Between its three independently-managed Worthing care homes – Caer Gwent, Linfield House and Haviland House, it provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.

Caer Gwent is an elegant, country manor style care home offering nursing and residential care; Linfield House is a well-established multi-purpose nursing, residential and dementia care home; and Haviland House is a modern specialist dementia care home.

Each of these care homes boasts 24/7 dedicated nursing care, a high staff-to-resident ratio, freshly-cooked meals meeting all dietary requirements, and a person-centred approach bespoke to each resident’s needs.

All three of Guild Care’s homes also offer respite, step-down and convalescence care. Whether you have had a stay in hospital, are a full time carer, or just need additional support, a short-term stay with on-site 24/7 dedicated staff can offer you all the care you or a loved one need.
