Tests need to be booked in advance, and anyone with symptoms is asked to self isolate and book a test – people self-isolating should only leave the house to go to a test site, according to NHS England.

People can get a free NHS test if they have symptoms or if they have been asked to get a test. You can also order a test to do from home.

If you cannot get a slot at the Eastbourne site, you will be offered an appointment at the next closest testing site, according to the council.

Anyone wanting to book a test can go online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119.
