Concern as dead seagull is found in Felpham

AN APPEAL for information regarding dead seagulls has been made.

Following the discovery of a dead gull in Felpham, people have been asked to report any dead gulls which have rings around their feet.

Jaine Wild of West Sussex Wildlife Protection said: “This specific herring gull had been ringed on January 5, 2008 at London by the North Thames Gull group.

“It was aged at four years, sex unknown, so it had flown to Bognor Regis from London and sadly been run over here.

“If any other readers find dead birds with rings on, please let the British Trust for Ornithology know of the circumstances as it is important for their research.”
