Sussex McDonald’s drive-thrus to reopen – all you need to know
McDonald’s has announced that all drive-thrus at its restaurants will reopen by next week.
In a statement published online, the fast food giant said following a successful pilot, its 924 drive-thru restaurants will reopen to the public between June 2, and June 4.
It also confirmed that it will be adding 75 restaurants to McDelivery via either Uber Eats or Just Eat.
But in order to allow for social distancing, it noted it will have fewer employees in its kitchens and service areas.
A spokesman said: “To help our smaller teams, we will be offering a limited menu – no breakfast, wraps or shakes over reduced hours 11am-10pm.
“We continue to ask that you limit your spend to £25 and use contactless payment methods wherever possible.
“Our teams are adjusting to new safety and hygiene procedures, which will help them to work safely and social distance; we appreciate your continued patience.”
McDonald’s said it will confirm the locations of the reopening restaurants each morning from June 2, on its website and social media channels.
A spokesman added: “We are delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland, but it will look different and will take a little longer. Please bear with us.”
