Eastbourne Indian takeaway shop raises £3,000 for NHS

An Indian takeaway shop has raised thousands of pounds so far for the NHS and has thanked customers for their support.

Owners of Indian To Go, in Cavendish Place, have promised to donate their wages and proceeds from May 16 to May 21 to the NHS, and so far, on the final day, they have raised about £3,000.

A shop spokesperson said, “We’re really happy. We just wanted to give back to the NHS during this time. They’ve done really well.

“We want to thank customers for making it happen. Without them, this is not possible.”

A breakdown of the money raised saw the shop raise £1,500 on Saturday (May 16), £592 on Sunday (May 17), £250 on Monday (May 18), £370 on Tuesday (May 19) and £340 on Wednesday (May 20).

Their final night is tonight (May 21).
