Just six months after she took over the practice, Piries Place came under new ownership and began a major redevelopment programme, which turned the pleasant courtyard shopping area into a noisy building site for the next eighteen months.
Louise praises her loyal customers for their patience, laughter and ongoing recommendations throughout a time when passing traffic had ground to a near halt.
She said: “To say it was a challenge to continue to provide a calm pleasant environment, when huge cranes were operating literally just outside the door is an understatement.
“But Horsham’s residents and our loyal customers, really helped us to make the best of it and share a smile at the same time!”

But soon after the building works were completed, Covid-19 struck and again everything stopped.
Explaining the reasons behind the refit Louise said: “I feel incredibly privileged that during the pandemic, we have been here to help and support both our regular patients and the wider Horsham community; especially as some more specialist eye services have not been as easy to access.
“The past few years have really brought home what an amazing town Horsham is. And our way of celebrating our working through the challenges, has been to have a full refurb of the practice.”
