The eagerly awaited announcement came last week (Tuesday, June 23) and businesses were told they will be given guidance on how to reopen safely and punters' contact details will be taken to help with contact tracing.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that pubs and restaurants would be able to let customers back onto their sites from Saturday (July 4) and at the same time, reducing the social distancing gap to one metre, where two is not possible.

For the Goodwood Estate, this means that Farmer Butcher Chef, Goodwood Bar and Grill and The Kennels will be reopening to the public from this weekend.

A spokesman for the Goodwood Estate said: "Following the recent announcement from the Government, we are delighted to confirm that we will reopen The Kennels and restaurants across the Estate on Saturday July 4.

"We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Goodwood and would like to reassure you that we have put in place extensive new measures to help you feel relaxed about visiting us. Our new Kennels member policy details all of the safety measures and gives an overview of what to expect.

"We hope to see you soon."
