Joe Black was Brighton’s first Drag Queen to be on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Unfortunately, Joe was the first queen to be eliminated this season but returned mid-season to replace

Veronica Green.

However, Joe’s return was short lived when he decided to wear a pink H&M dress on stage when performing in the RuRuVision Song Contest.

RuPaul’s reaction to the pink velvet H&M dress being 'off the rack' and a 'huge disappointment' went viral.

Now Joe has kindly donated the infamous dress to be raffled off to raise funds for Brighton-based Sussex Beacon, which provides care and runs services for people living with HIV in Sussex.

Joe said: “I am so happy that the most dramatic and infamous fashion choice on television this year can be turned into something that can genuinely impact and help people.

So, it is my absolute pleasure to be handing this over to the Sussex Beacon and, hopefully, together we can help raise a lot of money for a charity doing such fantastic work.

"Fashion changes lives, but only if a television host is really, really angry about it.”

The raffle was launched on Friday and is running until midnight on Friday, May 28, or until the last ticket is sold if that is sooner. More than 500 tickets had been sold within the fist two hours of the raffle going live. Tickets cost 2.50 each and are available online at Sussex Beacon is very excited about the raffle and extremely grateful for Joe’s donation.

Trading manager Wayne Stone said: “Joe Black’s very kind donation means we can come back fighting when we open our shop doors again in April. You have watched the clips, you have seen the epic meme’s and now you can sashay away in the very same infamous dress!”
