A motion was delivered, debated and passed by the delegates, and awards were presented.

The speaker for the day was Rosemary Hawthorne aka The Knicker Lady, who had the whole audience laughing as she romped through the history of the humble knicker.

It was a most interesting and enjoyable day. On the Wednesday, most of our members visited Buckland Abbey, the home of Sir Francis Drake, then went on to Plymouth for some retail therapy.

On Thursday morning we enjoyed a visit to Cockington Village before departing at midday to make our way back to East Sussex. Anyone interested in learning more about Townswomen's Guilds, please telephone Kath on 01424 753319 or Dee on 01424 753108.
