Burning the Clocks Brighton - a look back to previous years in pictures

Burning the Clocks has been a Brighton tradition for two decades, but this year things have had to be a bit different.

Usually the local arts charity Same Sky organise a free lantern parade and fire show on December 21 which draws thousands of people to Brighton. However, this year, due to Covid restrictions Same Sky has organised the Burning the Clocks Lantern Trail 2020, which started on December 2 and runs until December 21. The trail is made up of 12 lanterns on display in the windows of some of the best creative businesses in Brighton’s creative quarter around North Laine and South Lanes. Those taking part in the trail can scan the QR code in each window to find out more about the lantern, the artist and the creative shop hosting it. Here we look back at Burning the Clocks from previous years which saw the impressive willow lantern parade and huge bonfire and fireworks display on the beach.
