Musical director James Morgan said: “Christmas is the time for the ever-popular Brighton Festival Chorus Christmas concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. And we’ve decided that we are going to keep the festive tradition alive!

“This year, we will bring this joyful and stirring family concert directly to you in the comfort of your own home, and we want to get all of Sussex singing.

“We are creating two virtual choirs to sing with us. We’re asking individuals and groups from our community to upload themselves singing much-loved Christmas favourites; we’ll then magically put all your performances together to be streamed on Wednesday, December 23 at 6pm, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

“Alongside the usual sparklingly festive favourites performed by Juliette Pochin, our chorus, youth choir and the RPO, this year is a unique opportunity to celebrate Christmas by joining together in song online.

“We want as many people as possible to upload their versions of the carols we’ve chosen so we can make the concert one that will live long in the memory!’

“So send us your recording and then grab a mulled wine and settle down to join us for the online premiere of Sussex Sings Christmas on Wednesday, December 23 at 6pm. It will be full of joy and festive sparkle!”
