BEER FESTIVAL: In Shoreham

AFTER a massively successful first year, a beer festival is set to return in February.

The Ropetackle Beer and Music Festival is on Friday, February 11, and Saturday, February 12.

Ben Parker, from the centre, in Little High Street, Shoreham, said: “Following the success of the inaugural Ropetackle Beer and Music Festival last February, which raised much-needed revenue for the volunteer-run centre, the organisers have decided to make it an annual event.”

Described as an “indoor winter Glastonwick”, last year’s event saw more than 600 people visit the festival, organised in association with The Dark Star Brewing Company and Attila The Stockbroker.

Attila, who will compère both evenings, said: “If you like Glastonwick, come to the Ropetackle Beer Festival.

“It’s the same, really, only it’s in February, so it’s indoors, and it’s in Shoreham High Street, so there’s no need for a shuttle bus.”

This year, there will be 25 beers from small independent breweries, including new brews, plus ciders, perries and food and a great musical line-up.

There will be three sessions – from 7pm to 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday, admission £7, and noon to 5pm on Saturday, admission £3.

Friday night’s music will include a reunion gig with the Piranhas while Saturday night’s headliners will be The Fish Brothers.
