A number of former internationals will be in the Lashings team, who will also include Sussex paceman Tymal Mills. The 23-year-old made his England T20 debut last month and bowled West Indian superstar Chris Gayle with a 93mph delivery at Hove in May.

A whole host of other household names are in the Lashings team, with Tino Best, Waseem Jafar, Alex Tudor, Yasir Arafat, Monty Panesar, Sherwin Campbell, Chris Schofield and Kirk Edwards also set to feature.

The game is due to start at 3.30pm but entertainment in the form of bouncy castles and other rides will be available around the ground, as well as refreshments and food available in the pavilion and on the outfield.

Entrance to the game is free but volunteers from both St Barnabas and Worthing CC will be asking for donations during the game. There will also be the opportunity to buy a programme or a mini cricket bat in order to collect the signatures of the Lashings side, with proceeds going to charity.

A marquee with lunch for 250 people will take place before the game and car parking at the ground will cost £5.

Worthing Cricket Club chairman Tim Dunn believes the game will be the biggest at the club since the 1960s when they hosted Sussex in the County Championship.

He said: “It’s going to be a huge day for the club and we won’t have seen a bigger event at the Manor Ground since we hosted county cricket in the 1960s.

“This game is the culmination of a lot of hard work from both St Barnabas and our committee and is raising money for a terrific, and importantly, a local charity.

“This is hopefully something the people of Worthing will get excited about and an opportunity to raise money for a good cause while watching some genuinely world class cricketers.

“It’s fantastic to have a current England international in Tymal playing against us and we’re hoping a big crowd will turn up.”

The game itself will be a T20 and is open to anyone to come and watch, listening to Test Match Special’s Henry Blofeld’s commentary of at least one innings.

The Worthing team will be captained by 1st XI skipper John Glover and will include Benn Challen, Josh Wood, Alex Harris, Martyn Swift, Harry Dunn, Shane Felton, Nick Ballamy, Stuart Carter and Nick Gunning.
