WALKING ON TO SUCCESS

IT S DEFINITELY a case of mission acccomplished for Steyning race walker Derry Brown (13) this year.

At the start of 2001, he sat down with his father Adrian, a fellow walker, and listed his aims for the coming year. They were an exacting colection, but he now has big red ticks next to all of them.

He achieved first place in the Under-13 National at Birmingham, was the Sussex champion for his age group, while taking 20 seconds off the previous record.
